111th Chipping Norton Music Festival 2023

The 2023 Festival was a huge success with entries almost at record levels including 160 Piano and 130 Speech and Drama. With 475 entries compared to 330 from last year it turned into a very busy two weeks.

A real pleasure for many was to have a return of the Friday evening opening event, of the Jazz Band challenge.

Concerts this year started with the Barbershop harmonies of The Acafellas featuring Benedict Goodall and 3 university friends.

New to the Festival in 2023 was a Recital in honour of past chair Shauni McGregor, featuring 14 young performers, each performing a short set using, piano, voice, guitar, saxophone, speech, strings and much more. This will become a regular annual event.

The festival was well supported by some enthusiastic and lively adjudicators, that gave creative, constructive and well earned feedback to all entrants. To these we give our wholehearted thanks.

The Festival Concert was again well supported and featured the "best of the fortnight" introduced by Chairperson Sarah Cobb and adjudicated by President Anthony Williams.

During the Festival we also had 2 concerts from the Adderbury Ensemble.
