I am delighted to be writing to tell you that the Festival Committee are planning for a full in-person Festival, running between 4th and 19th March 2022. Our team of adjudicators is finalised and the provisional schedule for the main classes is complete and can be viewed in the syllabus via the link above or by visiting our website https://www.cnmf.org.uk/
We are really pleased that (subject to any Covid restrictions in place at the time) the 110th Festival will be back to its homes in the town, and we look forward to welcoming old friends and new faces back to classes and concerts during the festival fortnight. We are particularly looking forward to seeing those of you who took part in CNMF for the first time in our online festival in 2021, and to meet you in person in 2022.
We realise that for many of our performers, especially those of you in choirs, groups and ensembles, that the last 18 months will have been really hard and that you will not have been able to take part or practice anything like as much as before, if at all. Rest assured that we remain a friendly and non-competitive festival and would love to see you even if maybe your group is only just starting up again. Our adjudicators will be more than aware of the situation – as they have been largely in the same position themselves – and will, I know, be incredibly supportive of all of our performers, as will our audiences, deprived of live music making for so long – so please don’t let that put you off entering!
